Metal Family

Metál Család Metal Family is an ongoing Russian Web series created in 2018 by Alina Kovaleva. It goes into the life of a family that lives and breathes Metal Music; the family consists of biker mother Victoria, former musician father Sebastian "Glam" Shvagenbagen and their two sons, the smart and serious Dee and the kind and fun loving Heavy, all of whom adore metal music, wreak havoc and are avoided by other people due to their unconventional lifestyle.

The title card is done by the family's key-holder, which consists on the words "Metal Family" made of literal metal with four nails for hooks.

The family members who play secondary roles in the episode will already have put their keys on their hooks, with the focus character just hanging theirs up with (mostly) metal music playing in the background. Usually only one character plays a major role on each episode, with others showing up briefly or being mentioned and when there is an episode focusing on the entire family, Heavy is always the last one to hang up his keys. The way each family member places their keys on it reflects their personalities:

Glam gingerly sets his keys on the hook. His keychain is a pink Twisted Sister logo.
Vicky slams her keys on the hook with force. Her keychain is her shining nameplate.
Dee spins his keys on his finger until they land neatly on his hook. His keychain is a skull.
Heavy attempts to throw his keys on the hook as he excitedly speeds by, only to have to turn around and pick them up. His keychain is some monster head.

The family is referred to as "The Metal Family" since their last name is curretly unknown.
Series creator Alina Kovaleva likes to draw little slice of life moments of the Metal Family, some even poking fun at the audience such as one of Dee blatantly asking the fandom if they thought they could see him and his crush kissing or hugging just yet.
So far Heavy and Lif are the only ones with Instagram accounts heavy_orc and creepy_bloody_kitty respectively.

The first season started in 2018 and concluded in 2020 with a second season TBA.

Production updates, extra artwork, and fan art are posted on their official VK fanpage.
Physical goods can be purchased from the official Metal Family shop.
For Alina Kovaleva, the series is her main job. Because of their growing interest in the series, Alina and Dima both quit their jobs to work on it full time.
Alina Kovaleva and Fedor Kuzmich worked together on «Three Russian Bogaturs».
Alina and Dima spend more than they earn on «Metal Family».
Alina Kovaleva was inspired by the book "House, in wich..." when creating Metal Family.[i]
The program used to make the show Adobe Animate CC. They also use Adobe After Effects for video editing.
The concept for MF was developed 4 years prior to the series.[i]
The first MF concepts had humorous and parodic characters. Glam was a comedic character and was a of to Dee Snider from Twisted Sister.
The first season took more than two years to create (not to mention clips).
If the show was created in a big-name studio, it would've costed 8 million rub. (~110 000$)[i
The series has many pop culture references (posters, record covers and songs) to music groups such as: Manowar, Metallica, System of a Down, Black Sabbath, Twisted Sister, Apocalyptica, Bon Jovi, Alice Cooper, Led Zeppelin, Dio, Arch Enemy, Slipknot, and others.
- The series takes place in any country since the creators created a blurred world to prevent political disagreements in the community.
